Random targets: Trifid, Orion, Jupiter & Uranus

The joys of being a newbie to astronomy and astrophotography is that there's so much low hanging fruit out there for me to enjoy... even during a full moon under light polluted skies with a frosty 6 deg C breeze

Here are a few random photos from last night, with my WO FLT-132 and Canon 5DmkII using either the WO P-FLAT68 flattener (nebulae and moon) or TeleVue 5x PowerMate (planets). I'm very tempted to get one of those el cheapo 12" imaging newts to throw onto my EQ6 for planetary imaging and visual observing.

I had just as much fun looking at 'stuff' as I did taking photos of it. This hobby rocks

Fantastic shots, but if you want a frosty night come down to Canberra, past 8:30pm it hasn't really reached 1 deg C.

Thanks! Though these photos are nowhere near what the more experienced guys are posting, I still have plenty of stoke factor considering it was my third time ever shooting prime focus.

Brrr! I spent two consecutive winters in Salt Lake City, Utah so I had the chance to experience "real" cold... down to -20 deg C (though it's still quite toasty warm compared to say Antarctica). However, it only took one summer in Brisbane to re-acclimatise to T-shirt weather

Oops! Haha, well that explains my suspicions for it being (a) too big, (b) too red, and (c) not blue enough!
