Hi All, had another go at the avis from this morning, picked one of the better ones and ran it through Virtual Dub to reduce the number of badly distorted frames. Very time consuming and perhaps not the most rigorous job, but it does seem to reduce the amount of onion ringing (not eliminated)and improve the overall sharpness of image detail.
I've put three different approaches in the attached image ... let me know if you have a preference, though the different approaches have turned out remarkably similar images. These would now be my best with the C9.25, but not quite up to the standard of my run with the Mewlon 180 on Feb 18.
It's a hard task to pick just one of the three as a favorite that's for sure, their very similar as you said.
Hmmmmm...I'm picking the middle one because at first glance, to me the onions are less evident (unless your making a point of looking for them) & it looks slightly sharper than the other two.
All three are great images though, Good stuff Rob!
i had forgotten about this mini GRS, this is a great sot of it mate - well done!
Thanks for pointing that out DP, I hadn't realised what it was, now on closer examination I can see it's obviously a storm system similar to, but only 1/4 size of the GRS. Jupiter is an amazing place
