Careful what you wish for...

There is no doubt the current high $A to $US is a bit of a boon for US gear
at present, but I was crest-fallen to discover US manufacturers are starting to get hit hard with higher materials costs and are starting to pass these on.

As a case in point RCOS list pricing for 12, 14, and 16" scopes is approximately, $US33k, $44K and $55K respectively (the latter being a $16K price hike!! )

With the US inching toward default, it will be interesting to see what will happen next....

Had to start happening sooner or later, their dollar has taken a thumping of late.

Sooner or later we'll see the SHTF - the world economy is being propped up with government borrowing and spending - the underlying economy is in contraction trying to pay off excessive debt.

If the backside caves in on their economy, your chances of being able to buy a RCOS, or anything else from there, will be close to zero. But before that, the prices might go up because of higher materials cost. Though in order to try and trade their way out of it the prices might come crashing down, so they can sell stuff cheaply....for cash.
