You Guys Got Hot Weather As Well?

We are experiencing somewhat of a heatwave over here at present, with day temps up near and sometimes over the 30's.
While you Ockers may be comfortable with this I for one am not.
I like snow!!!!
In an effort to thwart some of these ridiculous temperatures one resourceful Kiwi (no, not me) was silly enough to buy a K Mart paddling pool, and wollow around in it, while watching the Rugby Sevens.
Speaking of which, did you follow the Sevens as well?
Full credit for the ingenuity, and if he ever discovers how to produce children he is a step ahead of the rest with the summer fun.
Good on yer mate.

What's an Esky? What's Vic?
Showing my lack of Aussie Jargon!

Yes, where is the Beer? I guess the Mrs must have been away so there was no one to fetch it from the fridge....

Cheers (about to be shot)

I finally worked it out
An Esky is known here as a "chilly bin" and Vic I guess is short for Victoria Bitter Beer.... Must be a good drop, but I'm sure it's got nothing on Speights!!!
What do they drink in Sydney? Surely not "Vic"

Yeah we call it hot when it is over 40deg C. and for our northern friends ie hemisphere, that is over 104deg F. but yes it has been damn cold the last week here in Adelaide.

A steady 34 degrees and betwen 70 and 75% Relative Humidity. The temperatures not too bad but I'm sick of swimming to work. Muggy!

28 degrees celcius in Sydney today mate. Still too cold for our usual summers It has been an eerily cold summer of late, definitely feels like winter. And not much rain...mother nature is trying to tell us something methinks!

have you noticed that the winters are generally warmer too silvie?

it's like mother nature is tired of seasons and is just evening everything out to try and get a constant temp all year long....

spooky!

The Kurrawongs have arrived up here from down south about a month and a half early. I think they know something we don't. Like maybe its going to get really cold really early down there. Should make for good seeing. Of course that's after you get over the Autumn

Yes Paul, animals are quite amazing when it comes to things like mother nature, they always know something is wrong somehow before we do. Some kind of weird sixth sense.

Yeah Ving I have noticed that too. I didn't wear my nice warm coat last winter, it was just too warm for it! Can you believe, I didn't wear my boots either!

It's not just spooky though, it's a complicated phenomena that we haven't even begun to understand yet. It's kind of like what our bodies do when we get sick: we sweat to cool down, we get fevers to kill off viruses etc, so mother nature is just working in a similar way but on a larger scale and with sometimes more disastrous effects. But she's only trying to get better from all the harm we've been causing her. That's just my weather thoughts for the day
