Terrigal Sunrise, May 2011

Hi all

On the 15th May I headed out to Terrigal at 5am for three reasons – a) to photograph the conjunction, b) to capture some sunrise images, and c) to run up and down the skillion as part of the BBMA prep cycle for the new round of candidates.

These photos are from (b) – the sunrise after the conjunction. Unfortunately there were no clouds in the sky which made the sky a bit dull but there was a few photographers there that morning, and one of them had climbed up on the rocks on the left of the bay area and his silhouette made for a nice scene with the glow of the rising sun.

Not my best shots but I do like the first one.

Thanks for looking.

Great images Mike, love 1 and 5, but all good. Looks a wee bit chilly there.

Hey Mike,

Looks like we were there the same day. I tried to take some similar shots but yours are so much better. I'm a bit embarrassed to post my effort, but here goes anyway.

Thanks guys!

haha James, classic. Very funny - you should've asked me "Where's my beanie?" I had a feeling you recognised me by the look you gave me

Do you have any shots of me up to my ankles surrounded by the incoming wave? A few times it got a bit hairy when I ventured out onto the rocks.

Yours are good! I like your 2nd one.

Agree with Adam, the 5th one does it for me.

Love the color of that sky!

I only had a crappy point and shoot, but I captured the aftermath Mike...
I was there with James (I was the one in the bright orange jacket who said hello - I recognised you, but didn't want to seem like a stalker!).

These are some of my attempts with inferior technology.
