You've lost me Leon... I can't find anyone named Mike yet in the competition. Did you get the wrong thread?

Going to be a pretty interesting competition if Mike, Huayun or Chris pit in entries, together with the ones already there. The bar is set high as it is.

Lovely shot Chris, it is any wonder these fishermen/women get washed away, or are you supposed to be in that shot as i can see two rods and one person.

Thanks Leon

Looks dangerous doesn't it. Two groups washed off their perches just this month. Quite frankly crazy!

Chris - I thought a better title for your pic would be, "Tired of Living" - the above just confirms my thoughts!!!

Some impressive entries thus far. I might have been a bit too confident in my own abilities when I chose this topic - humbled, yet again!!!

It will be interesting Tony, but we have some fine photographers on this site, not just three, who have every chance of knocking em off.

Tony, David and Leon,

I've never won any of these and I don't think I ever will. So, no worries there.

Well, not until anonymous entries are ever re-introduced, and, that's not going to happen.

re images

That's a great image @omaroo,really well framed.
Well done on the great capture,I feel the wave angle
gives great depth of field along with the rocks in fore
ground.

I love fishing, but would never fish on rocks like that
Should be some really fine images in this topic this
month, some very nice ones so far. Thanks Leon for
comment.

Cheers C

Thanks Chris. It was actually a photo I literally "snapped" at the end of the morning shoot last weekend. No planning, just an instant reaction to a situation.

Some good photos this month everyone

Didn't realize just how many sea side shots I had until I looked and it made it so hard to choose so here's a couple more to look at just because we can.

I was just referring at some of the other seascapes in some of the threads and I realise that when I put in an entry, it will be to make up the numbers . Just so many great shots and already there are some pretty speckkie shots... it will be a hard decision when it comes time to vote.

Humayun, I don't think that anonymous voting would make a difference... I have been lucky enough to win a few times, and Anne-Louise has cracked it a few times as well... of course we believe that we put in a great entry and deserve the win... I have been really happy with some of my shots... but the rest are just fillers... I'm cool with that.

Having said that, whatever entry is put in will need to be something out of the box, because there are some pretty special shots already.

Wow Ken, your Apostle shots are cool and the rusty dredger was something that called out to me from the thumbnails, but no. 7 did it for me, with the foot frozen and surrounded by motion. No 8 was my second pick but a fair way back.

I agree. There's a lot of variation in people's tastes. Some obviously take into account "how on topic" the shot is and others don't. Some obviously judge on technical aspects of the shot while others obviously don't. If it was a serious competition it would have formalised judging criteria and guideline and probably authorised/trained judges.

It's just a bit of fun. There are a lot of very good photographers in this forum (like you H!) who don't participate in the comps, which I find sad. It shouldn't be taken too seriously IMHO.

Thanks Tony,
Yeh I must admit the little girl running in the wet sand was almost my first choice as well.
The dredger you mentioned is actually the wreck of the Ozone passenger Paddle Wheeler just inside Port Phillip heads at Indented Heads and what you're looking at through the wheel is Melbourne skyline.
I doesn't really matter though like Al says, I just get a kick out of taking and showing my shots and hope others enjoy them as well and we get to see some great shots that each do as well.

Ken.

Love the water Bart, the colour is great. There's something about watching the waves that a lot of people like, you can sit and watch them for hours if you had the time.
