Moving to Canberra -- what to expect?

Hi all,

I've been made an offer to work for a government agency in Canberra. I've been waiting to hear from them since November 18th and it's all finally come good. My dream job is now a reality. Finally, I've found a role which will actually facilitate what I went to university for.

I'll be beginning in the first or second week of March, so will relocate very soon. I don't want to leave Sydney, as it's the best city in the world. But, I'm also welcome to a change.

I guess my question at this point is what can I expect from the night sky? Is it going to be conducive for astrophotography?

Regards,
Humayun

i am assuming that the skies will be 100% better than sydney. I'd say try and pick a outlying area to escape light pollution even more

i guess this does mean tho that we wont be seeing you at kulnura any more?

congrats on your new job
