Polarex 4 inch f/15 Refractor (Video)

Below is a video of me setting up what I refer to as 'the monster telescope'.

It's a Polarex 4 inch refractor on a german equatorial mount. The scope belongs to my astro club (nsas.org.au) and it just happens to be in my care at the moment.

This was the first time I had taken it out of the box so I didn't really know what I was doing.

I would be interested in any opinions as to what this scope might be worth as the committee is currently considering what to do with it (that doesn't mean it's for sale).

Not shown in the video are the weight-driven clock drive and the glass-plate astro camera.

Hi Peter,
I have a 4" Polarex Alt-az. The Unitron/Polarex are collectors items.
If the club can hold onto it, they should!!
They will only increase in value.
The best images I've ever seen have been through a properly collimated 4" Polarex......ENJOY IT!!
