Baader Hyperion 5mm - PRICE DROP

One Baader Hyperion 5mm

This 5mm Hyperion I purchased off a young man about 2 years ago who had evidently become bored with astronomy and was selling his scope along with a few other things. Accordingly, I am not the first owner and I am selling the EP in the condition in which I originally purchased it myself.

There are a few things I want to clarify about this EP to anyone who might be interested in buying it. I will describe and attempt to display them in the pictures below:
  • The rubber trim which covers the camera thread at the top of the EP is missing
  • The rubber eyecup has a tear – it is still however quite functional and not falling off etc.
  • The barrel has a small dent near the thread. However, the bottom lens still aligns fine and can be fitted with the Baader FTR rings – see photo – please note that FTR ring is not included with the EP
  • Within the top lens there appears a very small bubble less than 1mm in diameter (approx) within the glass at the very edge/perimeter of the lens. Despite my best efforts I cannot get my camera to focus sufficiently for it to be visible in a photo – this I suspect is a factor of just how minute it is. I have never noticed this bubble as any sort of distortion etc when using the EP
  • I do not have any of the original box/lens cap/packaging etc
Now the GOOD news:

I have several Baader Hyperion Eps. Provided you can get past the above points, in my opinion, optically the EP is clean and works just fine.
So, if you can accept an aesthetically rough looking, but in my view, quite functional 5mm Hyperion here is one going cheap. $80ono + PPH

Please send PM if you are interested.

Yes - I have wondered about the colour myself. All my other Hyperions are black with white painted lettering. This one is actually a bronze type colour on the outside but the inside housing is the usual black finish like all the rest. There are however cosmetic type variations amongst the Hyperions as I have two 8mm’s and the paint work and lettering is different although mechanically they are identical.
