2000th Post Saturn storm+Dione shadow transit

Hi All,

Well, I suppose my 2000th post just had to be about Saturn.

Very early this evening I imaged Saturn, not long after a hale storm, in an attempt to image the storm that started back in late February.

The seeing was poor due to the current path of the jetstream which is howling over head. I have posted 2 RGB's. The seeing was so crook that I only stacked 750 frames of the available 2800 per channel.

The storm is still visible bur very faint and extended in longitude, I think this is probably a reflection on the poor seeing rather than any drop off in brightness of the storm since I last imaged it on June 28th.

As a bonus I have accidentally captured a shadow transit of Dione.
Dione itself is also in transit and should be just South of the ring plane about 1/3 of the way across the planet from the western limb.

I have included a animation of the 2 RGB's which makes it easier to identify Dione's shadow.

Thanks for looking
Shame I couldn't manage better images but I was happy to get the storm, albeit very faintly.

Regards
Trevor
