QHY8 Lagoon Nebula

After a lengthy sabatical from life in its normal guise as we know it, this is my first attempt in ages. After getting some niggles worked out, and with some still to solve, namely the rubbish skywatcher crayford etc, i ploughed on, and this is the result, not that its any good, the core is a bit cooked, and with the quality of some of the imagers on here now, frankly i am hesitant to post anything! so here it is, another Lagoon, taken with a 200mm F5 scope, a series of 10 min subs and flats over 2 nights, on an EQ6 guided with an Orion SSAG, with a QHY8.

Critique is welcome, and i know there is lots wrong with it, not really posting it for critique, more to let you all know i am still alive!

Just slightly overcooked on the black point I think Duncan - but otherwise a very nice return to the forum.
Loads of detail and heaps of data there to play with too.
Good to see you again!

You're back!!
It can be a hard slog at times, this imaging caper.
If it's not one thing going wrong, it's another.
LOL and then just as things are looking up, going smoothly, it's time to wait for a new key for K3.

A good image Duncan. Black point clipped and longer subs would help. Try to go as deep as you can as this nebula really allows long subs. Processing looks good generally but it is hard with a small image. Well done.

Gday matey , you're back!! T'was wondering about you being so quiet of late. Good to see you've been using this string of good (but coolish) nights to get back amongst it and a fine result it tis too. Maybe try some narrowband Ha to get some really super, razor sharp luminance (once these clouds bugger off again) but as it stands its better than my attempts of late.

Look forward to seeing more.

kind words from everyone! yes, i am back after my "mental" meltdown, and a lengthy break to get my head sorted.

This was processed on my other laptop (i have 11 computers, can you believe it?) and the screen was brighter than here, so on the other computer its just right, on here, a touch too dark.

but thanks again all
