For some reason, even if I spend half an hour setting up a tripod and the scene, my best photos happen to be the OTHER ones on my camera that I took hastily and hand-held in the moment with virtually no composition planning.

Here's photo I took the other day of my 15yo puss, Charlotte the Harlot.
Hard to get a half decent one of her, as she spends most of her time hissing, beating up other cats (and dogs), and biting the hand that feeds her. Strangely enough, I cannot imagine life without her!
