No...this is just another one of those religious organisations trying to justify their beliefs any way they can by claiming anything they find to be the real thing. It's probably nothing more than an old log cabin. As for their C dating saying it's 4800 years old, where's the results. Have the results been verified, who did the dating??

And that's just for starters!!!!.

They're charlatans, carbon dating is heresy! It's generally at odds with the well-documented fact that the Earth is 6000 years old

I still do not know what made nearly all the marsupials head for Australia when they got off the Ark. Same goes for all the penguins that went only to Antarctica and not the Arctic which is just a tad closer.

I dont believe in the ark, or religion for that matter, it hasnt worked for over 2000 years, and it wont work yet, that said, live and let live, and each to thier own...

I note with interest that "The group has ruled out an established human settlement on the grounds that one had never been found above 3,500 metres in the vicinity." So they have a wooden structure at 4000m. It could either be the first settlement found above 3500m or it could be the ark. So they whip out Occam's Razor and decide the ark is the simpler explaination!!

Hi Rob,
If your 50% is just an approximation then its near enough. A little thought and the figure is something more that 50% and the fact we have therefore lost 4klms of the Earth's surface consisting of water.

Makes me wonder why all the spectacular events only happened in the distant past in written history. Nothing ever happens around here any more.

I forget the exact figure but if we melted all the world's ice sea level would only rise 60-70m. So that isn't where it's gone.

Noah's Ark IMO is probably a story made myth - made biblical reality all the way through oral tradition to print.

Perhaps there was a person who envisaged some catastrophic event through some proximity to it (Vesuvians take note! Global Warming people...hello!)
In this case ' a flood' - so he dedides to save some livestock, his livestock,builds a small vessel to withstand the impending disaster and manages to survive it. Time and mythology start to blend into a much expanded version of the event.
Millenia later Chinese evangelists find the vessel.
Yeah they may indeed have found Noah's Ark - but that doesn't make the biblical story true.
