One of the legs does not extend all the way. The tripod can be set up with the legs not fully extended if you need it level. Or you could make the most of the slant for astro viewing when legs are fully extended (except for the broken one).

It is a very stable unit, and was used temporarily to mount my ED80 before getting my new EQ6 Pro.
