Superman movie being filmed in Newcastle next week
Well, Newcastle will be famous now for a few minutes in the next Superman movie. they will be filming this just 60m from where I work next week. Now for some reason they have picked a full moon for the shoot as well!
"Inner-city Newcastle on the New South Wales central coast will feature in several scenes of the new Hollywood blockbuster movie Superman Returns.
Film Hunter spokeswoman Christine Armstrong says the producers finalised the shoot last week and hope to film the facades of several 1930s and 40s buildings around Civic Park and King Street.
She says the five day shoot, starting on November 21 will give the local economy a major boost.
"This production is very positive for the local community, obviously," she said.
"Up to 150 crew staying in the city centre and lots of local services used like security and traffic management and, of course, the long-term benefits are great for Newcastle as well with millions of viewers around the world having images of our locations broadcast to them."

Ummm ok, last time I was in Newcastle was the last time INXS played
at the entertainment centre, and old aerodome looking building next to

Where's Superman! I expected an action shot maybe Superman flying from building to building. I think you will have to take your new telescope to work for those close up shots.
