Free webspace?

Anyone know a reasonable place to go to set up a free website with a simple layout to host some photos and such?

I want to set up a simple photography website for myself, where I have full control over it's layout and content.

Baz.

A good place to look for this sort of information is Whirlpool, the Australian broadband information site.
There's a thread in the Whirlpool forums on this subject.

Hi Baz
http://www.webs.com/
I had one and it was OK - image resolution may be an issue?

If the free options don't provide the disk space or facilities your looking for, there are a number of reasonably priced web services available.
For example, I get unlimited disk and unlimited bandwidth for less than $10 a month.
Lots of additional software packages installed for content development, photo albums etc.
The only additional cost would be getting your own domain name, about $25 for 2 years.

Spread the cost with a few friends.

That's great people! Thanks so much.

Thanks to you too Geoff. The only problem with your suggestion is the words "Reasonably priced." when I need something "Free". Thanks for the suggestions though. If the free sites can't handle my stuff then this may prove useful anyway.

I love how helpful IIS members are. There's nothing you can't find out about with people like this.

God bless you all.

Baz.

Bazza's new website! Holey Moley that was easy!

Thanks to all you guys for your help, suggestions, advice and a couple of very kind offers for extra help via PM. There is a lot of kindness hanging around this forum.

I had a go at the google sites, but it was a bit too complex to get ith going.

Webs.com on the other hand, was a breeze and I am pretty happy with the simplicity of this new site and what's more...it's free!

I can change it at will, I don't have to wait for an administrator to fix or change things and I can update it from anywhere in the world.

Fantastic!

Well here it is. http://barryarmsteadphotography.webs.com/
