Sunsets over Glass-House Mountains,mid Jan 2010

Had some days off with family this week, stayed at Caloundra, across the

road from a park/beach called 'Happy Valley'.we only stayed 3 nights,i wanted to take a few pics with new L lenses.

Here is some of sunsets.I wanted to take phots at exact same location and time on different days to show the 'movement' of our sun,so there was a semi astronomy theme here!

Anyhow heres the results pic 1 taken at 6.39.34 18-1-10
pic 2 taken at 6.39.06 20-1-10

i wanted to show just how much the sun had changed set position, see trees as reference,in pic 2 closer to mountain,it doesnt seem much, but its noticeable.

pics taken with 400 prime no 2 and 5,others with 70-200

unfortunatly,no dramatic after sunset glow, but pleased it wasnt cloudy!

the locals said about 4 weeks ago some lovely sunsets, usually preceed rain.

i hope these may be of interest

Lovely sequence Chris. I especially like the first shot with silhouettes of people on the sandbar.

Lovely colours Chris and I love the image scale, the setting sun's orb looks fantastic.
