Factors affecting the arrival time of pulses at the Earth by more than a few hundred nanoseconds can be easily detected and used to make precise measurements."
Physicists must have a lot of confidence in the theoretical basis for the existence of gravitational waves to warrant all the time and effort going into their detection. Let's hope they find some of these elusive gravitational waves.
