Qhy5 direct guide port

Hi - When I bought my QHY5 guider camera some time ago I stuck with an original PC guiding connection to my HEQ5Pro mount using a parallel port and interface box with a 6 pin lead to the mount. This is a rather clunky arrangement and I would like to try the direction connection between the QHY5 camera and the HEQ5Pro.
Apart from simply connecting a direct 6 pin cable is there any special precautions/PHD guiding software settings that I need to adopt for this arrangement? Also any comments on the relative merits of these types of connections?
Cheers Peter

I have a QHY5 setup to direct guide the EQ6.
All you have to do in phd is set the tab MOUNT to "on camera".
After that it is off you go.
The guiding is as good if not better than with pulse guiding in my opinion.

Thanks for the prompt replies. (Looks like I posted this thread twice - whoops!) As simple as that eh? - well I hope so and at least it will not be another cord to trip over in the dark! Cheers Peter
