bushfires north of Perth

I heard something on radio about bushfires north of Perth in Badgingarra area. Thats where my daughter-in-law's dad lives. Only trouble is he is recuperating from operation and is in Albany, and his wife is visiting my daughter-in-law in England. He has 4000 acres and about as many sheep. I cant find much WA news here in Qld. Do any of you WA guys know if the fires are still raging???

Hi,

the FESA website says it has been contained but is still not under control. This website seems to cover the salient points ...

https://internet.fesa.wa.gov.au/medi...spx?ItemId=238

Hope it helps

The threat seems to have decreased but the fire still active. See ...

News article (which refers to two fires in the one article, so take note to separate the two):

http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-...rophe-strikes/

FESA Alerts:

https://internet.fesa.wa.gov.au/aler...es/Alerts.aspx

I hope the property of your daughter-in-law's father is safe.

Roger.

Thanks, Guys for that. A bit of a worry as the report mentioned Dewars Road Badgingarra as being closed - that is where they live
I will keep updating

Sorry to have to tell you guys, but the fire made a beeline for the farm at Badgingerra. . All paddocks except two all burnt out. All the trees gone. Many sheep died as did all the chooks and all the feed gone up in flames. Over 100 people turned up to help save the house, and it appears that it was mostly saved, with wooden columns and beams burned in the patio, and considerable smoke damage. The vehicles also were saved.
One good thing though, the dogs survived. It was so hot that they had dug holes to keep cooler. The fire went straight over them.
It must have been terrible, and they got off lightly.
Over 30 homes gone so far.......
What a country

Good that no one was killed, not good for your relative's farm. Sounds like they had a big fight on their hands.
