How hot is it?
I just happened to look at a thermometer on the side of my verandah and saw that it read 48 degrees celcius. OK, this was in the sun at the time and it's 1.30 p.m. So I took it into the shade where it settled into a comfortable 42. Gawp!! This is SE Qld, not Tibooburra or Birdsville. And all the indications are that this is something to which we need to grow accustomed.

Peeing with rain and 17 here, but that'll change.
I feel for you. Over 35C and I sit in the bath with my head under water and a snorkle until it drops.
Stay hydrated!

Just another beautiful Melbourne summer day here, freezing cold, rain and overcast 15C atm, which is about normal for summer here Summer took a catastrophic collapse here after the wonderful weather of November.
You guys in the north dont know how good you've got it.

Pleasant 30 dg here, with 51% humidity - very bearable for this time of year.

I drove through Armidale this morning, driving home to Qld, and saw, just north of Guyra, a road sign saying "New England Highway Closed; Snow on Road". Somehow, I just couldn't take it seriously.

Officially 40 degrees here, thermometer says 49 in the sun and its a cool 45 in my workshop. The cold water fountain is struggling, the soft drink machine is broken the fans are blowing hot air and the aircon in the workshop is doing nothing, and I have just finished my last of 3 X 1.5 litre bottles of water. Looking forward to going home.

Very cute.
In 2006 we did have snow in November. It started about 9:30 in the morning. The kids at school all went outside and played in it as it fell.
Not enough to close the highway though.

no summers, constant cloud year round, DSE burnoffs (damn them), 1 clear night every 6 months, coldest and cloudiest place in Australia, last stop to Antarctica...
Careful what you wish for mate.....be veeery very VERY careful
I'd be moving to the tropics or the desert in a flash if I had the capacity to....to the hell with the constant winters and cloud down here in the sub antarctic roaring 40's
Any astronomer wishing to move to Melbourne needs to see a therapist.

37c in my kitchen right now down from an earlier 40c but we have
storms moving in so the cloud is giving us some relief from direct
sunlight.
