Mars 12 November

Better seeing last night. Seeing was around 6/10. Was able to collimate with 1 small diffraction rings for the first time in 4 months. Seeing is gradually improving, which is good.

Mars is slowly getting smaller now, you can see the south polar cap, northern polar hood and some detail in the darker areas. The seeing will not hold up to larger imaging still, so obtaining the image scale for better images is still not possible.

Anyway here it is.

Hey Rumples - pretty damn good if you ask me! Heaps of subtle detail in the albedo markings around the SPC and even off Syrtis Major and limb cloud around Sinus Meridani. Cloud in Brisbane is still solid with no signs of abating - I'd settle for a break and 3/10 seeing. Well done anyway!

What's Mars running at the moment ~17 arc seconds?

cheers,

Thanks guys, yeah some detail present. However, am always wanting more.

Robert the current apparent diameter is 19.44 according to the Sky.
