AR1029 29 October 2009

Time to say goodbye to this lovely active region. Nice seeing this afternoon despite some very high cloud.

I really must get myself a white light filter so that I can get some white light images too.

Like it Paul,

Love that textured look, that goes missing when just using something like Badder film.

Cheers

Very 3D Paul it almost seems like its going to fall off the edge of the disc.
I would advise getting a Herschel wedge for white light. I use a Baader one and find it excellent.

Trevor with something like Baader film youre looking at the visible surface of the Sun called the Photosphere. In Hydrogen Alpha youre seeing a layer above that called the chromosphere, thats where the real action takes place.

Hi Paul

Nice one!

I am quite sad I missed this AR due to work and poor weather.

Thanks for posting.
