These gems are the long focus objective version made by Vixen from the late 80's when Celestron had a rebranding deal. They are a Celestron Nova astronomy series but were also previously sold under Vixens own name. They have been cared for lovingly for 20 years. They have green multicoatings on objectives . There are objective lens caps and rubber eyecups but no eyepiece caps. The case is well padded.
These binoculars have 70 degree field eyepieces and due to the F6 objectives have exceptional edge of field sharpness and stunning contrast. They can be hand-held unlike my 25 X 100 binoculars. They are in perfect collimation and the field stops of the eye pieces also merge perfectly giving a specatcular high resolution `porthole' into space.
The exterior has very minor wear and tear commensurate with an instrument that actually got used because it was well loved. Even 10 years ago the Vixen branded model was selling at Bintel for $990. They are solid and exude quality that you don't find in the mass market Chinese 20 X 80's.
These would suit a quality binocular collector or the amateur astronomer who seeks Japanese quality but perhaps have not been able to afford it.
I am selling these for $300 Firm plus postage as I don't do much observing these days and they really deserve to be used more.
