We have been glagged for 4 repeat 4 weeks here. the piccy of omega was a treat---I really prefer to see the real thing but if the kilobytes can do it so be it. thanks.
Nice image Trevor but it looks like you may have clipped the black point a little on this one. The background is super black and you may well have lost some of the dimmer detail. Keep an eye on the histogram and keep the left edge in the clear. You also have a bit of a blue cast to the background around the bright core and the outer part of this glob.
Use of shadows and highlights in PS will prevent clipping. I saw clipping too in the image, as well as a large ring of brighter sky and then the rest very dark. The core stars are a little pink and the outer core is a little too blue. Some colour adjusting and this will look a lot better. Nice round stars though and the tracking looks good. If you guided with this image your data would be better and you would not have to stretch it as much to get the same level of detail showing.
Thanks Paul will avoid using LP removal process which seems to cause some issues
I did this to the TIFF file this time around the File first had histogram, curves, noise levels and dynamic background extraction applied in PixInsight LE
as per first image these adjustments in CS3 plus a smart sharpen and adjusted selective colour black
