Talking Beautiful night in Melbourne!

At last!
Been up looking at Jupiter, and I think I saw neptune.
Had a squiz at Venus through the trees.
I saw 47 Tucanae the other night with the naked eye, but by the time I got the scope out and set up, the fog had rolled in.
Tried to find it this morning, but it was behind the massive pine tree.
Oh well. It was nice being out.
Anyone else had a good night?

Glad to hear that you had a great night! Sky was clear here in Albury but no viewing for me - visitors and red wine got in the way.

Cheers Petra d.

Was not free - just glimpsed the stars naked eye and sighed

Glad to hear that others could partake!

Spent a short time out with the binocs. Jewel Box, omega Centauri, eta Carina all clearly visible and lovely. Just getting over a rotten cold and didn't want to suffer more, so didn't take out the scope which would have meant a couple of hours out there. Certainly a beautiful night.

Transparency looked terrific last night. I was heading home at midnight and Jupiter was so bright. Got up this morning at 5:45 and the moon, Venus and Mars were stunning in the early morning sky. Scope in the wardrobe, bottle in the baby

Was clear down here in Berwick aswell, but had work until midnight........ now if only my grab n go Mak had a mount

Tonite looks ok aswell, but have work till early morning and thus the required grab n go factor is missing.

Tomorrow's forecast sucks, naturally, so no chance yet again I guess

And the 2 weekend days are perfectly overcast. What a surprise

There's a new meterological term for a clear day after a few days of rain and cloud:

MONDAY
