LM388T Regulator Circuit.
Does any know how to setup an LM388T as a 5volt regulator? I can't find any data sheets/circuits to get the external components required. I want to jam one in my dew controller to power a USB hub at the mount.

Yes, thats fairly obscure, why not a cheap, standard, 7805?

They're only 1/2 amp, I'll need almost 2amps to run a loaded 4port hub and that 388T is rated at 5amps and stocked by dick smiths.
Found a data sheet for a 317. They'll do 1.5Amps so close enough

Well, OK, but the 78H05 would do, without the extra component bother. Anyway, its all small bikies, just extra time.

If you need more current, just place a transistor on the output of the regulator, and then you have maximum current of the power supply.
