Don't you hate it when...

People come to work, coughing, spluttering, spitting, hacking and snotting all over the office in the air conditioning....obviously sick and won't take their stinkin bugs home and away from everyone else?

Because of one person, a heap of people in my factory are now sick, I have been off work all week, feeling like DEATH, housebound in a pool of sweat and nine colours of snot.

I just signed up with a gym last week too, was enjoying the heck out of it and now I am paying by the week for a place I can't go to until I am better.....

AAARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!.......

"sniff"

Baz.

You paint a very colourful picture!

Head down, get your rest, snort the Vicks and drink your honey & lemon. Hope you are back on deck soon.

Then thrash that gym - I've found that a fitter body plus daily multi-vitamins and I've been able to keep my sniffles to a minimum for a few years.

Oh, and a shot of the 'flu vax every year!

They should be banned

Anyone who remotely shows the onset of cold or flu should be required by law to stay home for a week

1. Their boss won't mind and gladly will continue to pay them while they are off
2. they will be covered by sick pay without a medical certificate after 2 days off but on the third day they must either return to work healthy or have a medical certificate to support any further time off
3. they will be compensated the cost of the medical whcih involves a Dr telling them to drink plenty of fluid and rest while writing out the said required certificate.

Would be nice wouldn't it

I believe that a boss can send a person home if they are ill, and required to provide sickness allowance. So the responsibility should initially fall on the worker, but the boss should also take on the responsibilty as well if they are aware.

I believe it is a part of OHS.

Many worker work during illness the keep there sickness allowance when they want an extended holiday. I know because I did it 20 odd years ago.

Oooh look out its the booger man!!

Yes its very inconsiderate when sickies come to work and spread their germs instead of taking a sickie! And some peoples' personal hygene when suffering from a viral illness or cold is non-existant!

Hope you recover soom Baz it sucks being sick .

If you contact the gym and discuss you situation perhaps the gym will put your membership 'on hold' until you are well enough to start going again (one of our local gyms is happy to 'put on hold' Frank's (my hubby) membership if he goes away with the army for a week or more so that he can get the greatest benefit from his membership). I guess you never know unless you ask.

My pet peeve....
I hate those slack parents who couldn't be bothered to teach their kids to cover up when they cough and sneeze. I mean, you only have to supply them with a hanky and remind them to use it, it's not hard.

Get well soon Baz.

I asked a woman to cover her mouth in a shopping center as she sneezed all over the food, you would have thought I had asked her to kill herself as she used the foulest language to tell me what to go and do with myself
No Wonder we have all these Flue and colds every winter

Those that have the hide to board trains and busses when snuffling and sneezing are the ones I really loathe.
People should be banned from doing that the moment, but they aren't.

Still the only nice part in respect of our idiotic state government that has consistently done too little too late, is that the Minister for Tourism has the flu, and finally realised it might not be a good idea to pass it on at the cabinet meeting today.

Pity... they deserve it.

NEVER, EVER, pass up the opportunity to bless someone. I love to do this from the next aisle in a shopping centre when I hear a sneeze a row or two down....you should see the looks you get.

As for the ones on public transit, I could stand over them and say "In nomine patris et filli et spiritus sancti, amen". Would that work?

Oh,.....and bless you all.

Luv,

Baz.

Where I work in the food services department of a large hospital our policy is strict. If our staff have a cold or any type of illness they don't come to work. If they do then we send them straight back home again.

As we are feeding people who are ill and therefore could have weakened immune systems we just don't take any chances.

Get well soon Baz.

Cheers
