Really nicely done Daniel considering a small amount of subs.
Just a suggestion if you want to give it a try.
One of the more simple methods of processing I found early on when you are new to it all is to use Selective Colour adjustment in PS. It adds colour as well as changes colour to the data that has been captured in the image.
choose Adjustment > Selective Colour - a drop down menu will appear red is usually the first choice you then just click on the blue arrow you have in the drop down menu and this then gives you a choice of all colour enhancements.
For M8 go into the red - cyan - majenta - and blue windows and adjust the sliders back and forth and you will see the colour changes in your image.
You mostly want to add more red and majenta and less blue.
To add the yellow stars just use the yellow window and slide the yellow slider and there they are.
I then just did an S curve to lift it a bit.
It sounds complicated when describing what to do but once you play with the sliders in the diferent colour windows you will see the colour changes happening in the image.
There are more advanced methods to be used to bring our more detail and colour but this one gets you on your way without getting into the heavy stuff
