Messier 5 - Globular in Serpens

This was the last object I shot during a Messier imaging session a couple of weeks ago, when we finally had a decent Sat night. M5 turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises during a viewing/imaging run - unexpectedly bright with a nice field surrounding. Motivated me to shoot a couple more frames even though it was late. Hardly a marathon effort mind you with 15mins of data....

5 x 3 mins ISO 800, 450D + MPCC/LPS on 8", flats/darks

Definitely worth a look if you're cruising though this part of the sky.

May not have been a marathon but a pretty reasonable image to show for it.
Overall it looks a bit blue from here.

Thanks Doug. I did layer in a lightly stretched version at the end which seemed to help bring out some more detail, but probably didn't spend long balancing out the pollution filter on that lighter image. I was actually getting worried I'd overdone the cuts into blue and green on the final image, so good to get a critique. Still seems to be a towering mountain of image processing learning left to climb....
