Astronomy Crossword Puzzles

A while ago I did some Cryptic Astro Crosswords. Obviously, cryptics aren't everyone's cup of tea, so as it's a feral windy, wet cold day outside today I thought I'd do some more "normal" astro crosswords.

This first series are all generated from the same word list of Proper Star Names. See how you go... I expect they could be tough without references, but if you need to all the answers (apart from the answer sheets) can readily be found on IIS!

For this series, the clues are alternate proper names. Wher alternate proper names do not exist, the clue is the Flamsteed number.

Enjoy,

Al.

Lunar Features and the People they are named after

These crosswords are all lunar features, but the clues are facts about the person the feature is named after. The source is the Virtual Moon Atlas database.

The added degree of difficulty in these puzzles is that the feature name may contain more than the person's name i.e. the feature may contain things like Rupes, Montes, Vallis, etc as well as the person's name.

General and Planetary Astronomy

Hopefully these will be little easier.

The proper star names ones I think are prety tough but the Lunar Features and the People they are named after.... They're people who really like a challenge!

I didn't mind the Spectroscopy ones I tried - pretty easy I thought for anyone with some knowledge or interest in spectroscopy, but might be a little more difficult to others.

Hopefully these will be a bit easier and more general, though I find the list I used to generate the clues seems a bit heavy on geological terminology.

Anyway try these or the Spectroscopy puzzles if the Lunar and star names ones were too hard.
