Thanks Guys, Images were taken using a Fuji Finepix S7000 with various exposure times but all on f6.3. Exposures ranged from 4sec to 11sec

Woah! Nice shots guys. I have a few shots that I was going to throw up, but mine are not all that good. I just took a heap of AVI footage & converted to individual frames & picked out the good one's. Most of mine are over-exposed of course, no settings to play with in AVI mode.

Andrew, My pics of the lightning have a great deal of 'flare' around the actual bolt itself washing the shot out, I've tried to get rid of it using software but It's not achieving the desired results....How come your pics don't have the same problem?

Awsome shots, i can't wait for some more lightning so i can give it another go at capturing it on film.
If i get quality half as good as your pcs, i will be very happy.
They seem a bit too close for comfort though, was your hair standing on end

Asimov: I set the cameras Apature to f5.6 or 6.3 to begin with then depending on the storm and how the pics look I will close the apature or open it. I am surprised actually that the images wern't blown out, some storms do it, others don't. I guess I was lucky.
Trevor: Nah these strikes were a fair way out, closest one (the first one) was about 3km away. The closest strike I have been near was 3m away, it hit a power pole which I was parked next to, sprayed the car in sparks, but we were safe.
