Blue-banded bees

Hi all,

The native blue-banded bees are back visiting our garden again, attracted by a flowering Buddleya. These guys are hard to photograph because they move constantly (unlike honey bees). I've had a few goes over the last week, and here are some of the better shots so far.

Cheers,
Stephen

Hi Stephen,

Love these images, what a top effort to capture something like this, love the fully retracted undercarriage of the little guy in the third image.

Well done
Regards
Trevor

Thanks everyone for the comments!
These are nice looking little insects, so keep your eyes open if you haven't seen them before. I think the're found right down the eastern side of the country.

Cheers,
Stephen

Very nice. They are extremely hard to shoot, so well done. They're very pretty, aren't they? A kind of solitary bee.

Thanks David and Troy.

Yes Troy, they are a challenge to capture. I'll keep trying while they are around because I'd like a better shot if I can get it.

Cheers,
Stephen

The experts recon that Bees shouldn't be able to fly,but they do a good job of proving them wrong.
And you have done a good job as well.
