MySQL databases of Messier and NGC catalogues

Anyone have these catalogues as MySQL databases and/or know where I can get a copy?

A big vote for Astroplanner here Troy. Took me a few hours to start getting somewhere, but includes some nice database functions and FREE!

Programming in horizon limitations for my backyards was a worthwhile exercise too. You might be able to connect straight up to your GOTO if you've got PC/mount link sorted.

Can easily sort columns of selected database by magnitude, RA, Dec, whether viewed before, and all sorts of user configurable fields.

Actually, I just saw a nice demonstration of astroplanner last night from Peter (peter_4059). Looks pretty cool. I'll look into it, but I want the database for a more personal application. I'm trying to create a database that contains all Messier objects with their "M42" number, their common names like "Orion Nebula", and a similar one for NGC objects with a cross-reference between them for objects in both catalogues. I'm rewriting my homepage and gallery to use MySQL, and thought it'd be cool to be able to reference this astro database as I shoot objects.

If all else fails there's export options from Astroplanner, but haven't ever tried to use.

I expect someone else here will come through with the goods before you go to all the trouble of installing, exporting, importing, etc

Messier, NGC, and whichever catalog is suitable (small enough) for plotting the constellations.
