NGC2070 with Skywatcher ED100

First chance I had last night to try out the ED100 on DeepSpace. So far it has been used as my guidescope for the 10" F6.

Not the best of nights with the moon up and seeing generally below 5 but it turned out, to me anyway, quite surprising for elcheapo optics.

Skywatcher ED100 Gold Tube.

Canon 400D unmodded.

Guided with the 10" F6, DSI Pro + PHD on a EQ6

Total of 70 minutes at ISO800 stacked in DSS slight touch up in PS2

not bad for a first attempt Alex, 2070 can be a tricky target, well done.

Very nice for a first use of the ED100.
Nice round stars and lots of nebulosity.

In my opinion the colour is a bit off - too much blue.
But using an un-modded DSLR means that the H-alpha response is a bit low.
You can try and touchup the colour in PS. I also recall that there were some settings in DSS for unmodded DSLR's to improve the "redness".

Nice first image Alex. I think you could probably draw a little more out of this image in PS But well done. You might like to crop the image a little just to remove the stacking overlays on the sides of the image.

Nice job. Keep at it.
