I have had David Ek's circuit board and some optical encoders sitting in my shed for a couple of years now, not working.
I don't have the resources, or skills, to find out why they don't work, but I'm pretty sure it's my soldering that's the problem!
I'm wondering if there is anybody in the IIS community who would be able, and prepared, to check it out for me?
I would, of course, pay all the packing & postage costs, plus any costs for the work done.
If you don't get a better offer (which shouldn't be to hard since many know more about electronics than I do!), you could bring it to me and we could check it out and wave my soldering iron around it. I'm not too far down the road.... Eric
And now the bad news - I'm away each of the next three weekends. I guess I was hoping that if it has been a few years on the shelf, you could wait a few weeks to see if it can be revived?
Chris,
If it is bad soldering, I can help.
Even if it is wrong or faulty component (anything except processor) I can help.
Consider sending it to me and I will have a look.
