Fantastic!

As a long-time member of IIS it is heartening to see it go from strength to strength.

The reasons for its success are many and varied...but well done to everyone for making this site everything it is, and all that it will become

Even easier. Just hold your cursor over the person's name next to their avatar or over their avatar, and their number comes up on the line above the taskbar at the bottom of your screen

Hey, the new guys have numbers around the 5800 mark, - so how come everyone else seems to think we're only just celebrating 5000 members? Have I missed something - duh

Congrats on a great site by the way

Oh my goodness – 5000 already, a solid, concrete measure of the amazing success of the Ice In Space community. It’s always nice to have an opportunity to thank Mike & Terry (Mojo) for their initial enthusiasm and hard work in setting up the fledgling site, which has now become the premiere astronomy and space forum in the Southern Hemisphere. No doubt, a lot of hard work, sleepless nights, blood, sweat and tears lies behind this endeavour, as well as the passion to see it through all the obstacles and hurdles faced since the beginning.

I guess we should also acknowledge the contribution of the moderators and other behind-the-scenes helpers, who have kept the site bubbling along at a nice, friendly and welcoming pace.

Then there is the community of members whose daily contributions, ideas, images, advice and stories make this a great place to be.

Well done to you all.

Cheers

Dennis

That's due to the banned bots and spammers. They aren't included in the 5,000+ members reported at the bottom of the forum.

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and encouragement. I've found some time to jot my thoughts down :
