M42 l Tried Again

much better conditions tonight so a few more subs.
8x5min @ iso 800 2x8min @ iso 400 w/ Canon 400D
imaged with Megrez 90 and 0.8 Reducer w/ Baader UHC-S filter
hand guided through LX200 @ f/10.
processing still needs a lot of work and will reprocess with layered core after x-mas.
any comments appreciated.

5@800 and 8@400 will basically produce almost the same result. What you effectivley have is 300sec and 240sec @800. The attached image was shot at a dark site and uses 30seconds, 60seconds and 300seconds all @ 400 (10 of each) then layered, yet the bloody core is still burnt out. It's a tuf one ...
