<rant>
Earlier there's a thread whinging about posters starting threads with titles that are at best uninformative or worse, deliberately deceptive. I'm rapidly getting sick of clicking threads with reasonably promising titles only to find the posts are either way off the topic of the OP's title, or have degenerated into me-too fanboism or worse, drivel.
And I'm going to whinge about people straying off-topic - for example we have a thread entitled "Next Solar Eclipse" but some undisciplined people have shanghaied this to discuss the possible position of some uninteresting dim faint fuzzball of a comet, complete with images of where it isn't.
Now, is IIS moderated, or not ? I'm rapidly gaining the impression it isn't.
If it is, those posts should be removed. There are many others guilty of same.
IIS is moderated, in the past, some have found the site over moderated and moved on to other places. Others like yourself may find the forum under moderated.
We strive to find a balance to meet the needs of most, but can never please everyone.
We allow a bit of off-topic chatter in some threads, but at times it strays too far off-topic and the posts have been deleted or moved.
You can also use the "report bad post" button and actually participate in the moderation process as well as enable the thread preview to give an insight in to the contents of the thread.
Thanks for your concern.
