Milky Way Last Night

It was a great evening for viewing last night in the Lower Blue Bountains so I decided to play around with my new Tak Sky Patrol II mini mount. I used a 400D with an Olympus OM 28mm/f2.8 lens and most of the shots were taken at 800 ISO varying from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. I think they're not bad images considering the mount and tripod were plonked on the ground with a rough alt/az/level polar alignment. The tiny mount will hold an FS-60c, Solarmax40 and a PST easily so it will be a great travel mount. The last image shows the Centaurus/Lupus region setting in the SE sky around 11 p.m. The second last image showing Jupiter was taken in front of my house, part of the roof gutter and a tree can be seen which ads a certain amount of perspective. Needless to say that these low resolution images aren't as good as the originals.

Really nice images Steve ... like them all. Fantastic innovation with that small mount.
