Triffid - State of origin nebulae

I got an early night off last night, still missed the game but didn't worry me too much, I thought what better way to cap off the series with something that reflects the 2 teams, triffid of course.

I was hoping to get about 32 images but dew settled on the secondary and my shots started to deteriorate so I packed it in about about 3am. The dew is also still there, I might have to find a way to combat this problem in the not to distant future.

I didn't do much in processing as I didn't think it needed it, just a little curves and a little level adjustment to get the background right.

20 x 5 minute exposures plus darks

Yeah, but notice how the "blues" are completely dominating the area. The "maroons" maybe brighter, but they're still inferior

A great looking image Ashley, the colours look very natural and the stars are nice and sharp.

A fine job.

Very nice image.

I would've thought the colours were a little understated, especially the pinkish tones of the main nebula (the blue part seems about right). Perhaps a bit more saturation to the red tones in the main neb.

The stars look good. A very nicely executed image.

Greg.

Yeah, I'd love to get one DSO a day too, but rain has settled in and thats going to slow things down, I've got myself an A3 photo album that I will hopefully fill up very quickly (I live in hope). Show a few people what it is I do in my spare time and where all my money disappears too.

I might upgrade my camera to a modded one eventually get a bit better red response, but I'll make do with what I have at the moment.
