Jupiter 29-6-08 - Brisbane.

Much better seeing than last night.. there was still some mist present but it cleared up for me around 11:10 - 12:20 which was enough to get the following images...

I was a bit reluctant to post this after Bird's epic jupiter, But here it is..

Note : I am no expert at judging seeing/transparency however to my knowledge, seeing/transparency greatly limit your max magnification.. Tonight using my 8" Dob, 3x barlow, 2cm extention tube and 10mm EP I had a stunning up close and personal view of Jupiter. I could see details that my images were unable convey!!! It was by no means the most contrasty view of the red giant I've ever seen, but my word was it an eye opener!

Anyways. here they are.

Excellent work Alex, I can't believe you're still doing this with a dob!

Great stuff.

I like the first one best.. though the colours are a tad too brown. Nice all the same!

An awesome result Alex especially with a Dob! Nice colours and detail.

I'm looking forward to see what you can do with your EQ6.

Well done.
