From last weekend through the ED80/400D - stack of 4 subs at 180 secs each from suburbs in Brissy with the moon rising. I started with 10 subs but had unusual stretched stars in 6 of the subs. A lot of skyglow in the raw images was quite a challenge for the processing but an ok result.
Could have been a great image if you had been able to use the other subs. It still looks like you had some guiding problems. You may want to check your guide rate or polar alignment.
Spot on there Doug - the problem was no guiding - just relied on polar alignment being close (but I guess it wasn't).
I have some marks for the tripod legs in the lawn and an index mark on the mount. This was a quick and dirty set-up. I'd normally drift align first but was eager to trial the AC adaptor for the 400D (which worked nicely).
