It was hard to get the timing right.
I set the camera up on the tripod and set it to the fastest shutter with f5.6, light the lighter and got it sought of focused seeing as I was holding it in front of the camera and used the shutter release cable to take the shot. Only thing to do after that was to get the timing right.
To get the timing right required a bit of getting used to, You have to set the shutter of first then the lighter almost instantly after, I had a lot of frames that had just a boring flame or even more boring black. Just perseverance manged to get some good ones.
Other problems included shots out of or on the edge, to far out of the focal point, saw thumb and the odd burn.
