Apologies for the incoming inclement weather in Brissy :)

Well i've gone and done it. I've taken the massive step up by buying Davewaldo's excellent 10 inch Dob. Many thanks to Dave for the instructions and the best view of Saturn i've ever seen. I am officially now one happy person and i cant wait for next week when i get to use it in anger at Cambroon. Now i am going outside to play.

I regret selling mine - sorry imaging freaks!
A very nice manageable scope.

I think you might be at Cambroon on your own.
Everyone is going to the Dark Sky Camp at Barambah!!

It's not too late to come along. The more the merrier. Stay for one or two nights or for the duration.

You're not the only one contributing to the inclemency. I'm expecting a couple of boxes of Astro gear to arrive early this week. With any luck the rain will fall at Kilcoy while my new gear and I are at Barambah.

I've just received a PM from Ron that Cambroon WILL be open next weekend as Ron isn't going to Barambah.
So either way, I hope you'll be able to give your new scope a good work out under dark skies.
Cheers
Jeanette

Congratulations Davros, the 10" scope is a great choice indeed (I miss mine!) and Dave's scope is a gem indeed. You will definitely NOT be disappointed in it at all! If/when you need to explore the mystic art of collimation down the track give me a holler, or ask other dob owners at Ron's place sometime, we'l make sure we steer you right!

In a way I'm very glad you bought Dave's scope now, as I had briefly toyed with the idea of buying it myself. Timing was bad financially however with the Barambah camp, holidays, building a binocular chair, plus all the usual bills due.

(Of course having shelved that idea I received my pay this weekend - which was up around $500 due to having worked 3 shifts across the Easter public holidays..... )

Look forward to meeting you sometime soon mate, and congrats again on the "new" scope!

Steve

Congrats with the new scope Davros, I'm sure you'll have some awesome viewing under the dark skies with that one.

Cheers
