A question regarding color filters.

Hi.

Other than astro photography, do you ever use color filters for plain old observing? When and why?

I have a moon filter which I use, and it's great becuase I'm not blinded. I also own a couple of the bintel color filters, green and orange, (the only colours they had at the time) but I find them usless as they dimm the image quite a bit, so I'm rather confused as to when I'm supposed to use them.

Thanks
