Wow
there's a lot of time & effort gone into that lot
he must have had fun grinding those wee mirrors!

Lance
I was just wondering where the name Anzaobservatory came from
It sounds, shall we say - Australasian

Cheers

Aloha Bryan,

as i recall DeAnza was an explorer..... Anza is at 4,200 ft. elevation,
Anza Borrego desert is at sea level at the bottom of the same mountain.
(in Southern California)

i found my way to this town after joining an Astronomy club that has it's
dark site there.

be well, Lance aka "abellhunter"

Hi Lance
Anzac is a word that in Australia and Newzealand (I suspect maybe) probably carries more weight than any other...
I wont go into it but have a google and I suspect after your readings you may have learnt something close up about Australians and NewZealanders...

So the name of your observatory has an additional signifficance.

There;s this site which sells them as well - and they look even better built:

or

http://www.optcorp.com/product.aspx?pid=2815

And this one too. The little scope is even geared in RA!

Well when faced with explaining it one realises that is not easy...I think it means slightly different things to different people but the thing that all probably have in common when they hear the word could not be described...

So Bryan I hope you understand why I suggested a google.
Have a great day..its still raining here

Lance my observatory is where the "consciousness" out there enters this planet so it is indeed a wonderful place.

It is the center of the Push Universe which I am still building and where I consider the divisions in the new Physics I must invent as a result of the new Universe...

But I really think it is a good place to think and you dont get that chance anywhere easily... some one rings, someone makes a noice down the road..traffic..well I dont get that so there is the peace you need when building a Universe...

It is raining here but that is an 11 yrs thing tied to the Sun's activity somehow so as I said I think there is a good 10 years of good viewing ahead of me....
