A clear night at last - M42 test shot.

After what seems like 3 months without imaging due to work commitments, bad weather, family commitments and equipment/software changes I finally got under the stars for a test session - with a half moon of course. I was really trying to track down a DEC guiding issue so I went for M42. I managed to get tracking to g ook so as I have not actually done a reasonable job on M42 before and I wanted to try out the layer masking technique - two sets of exposusres then 60s and 300s @ ISO800. Quite pleased with the result...well just happy with the clear skies really...

Off on holidays now so clear skies all!
