That Was A Good Night's Viewing

Finally, enough clouds cleared away enough to see the northand eastern sector of the sky.
First view was the Pleiades, then to the Hyades. A few minutes searching for M1 (had to wait or it to come up over the poinciana tree) and was quite surprised at its size. Had a good look at the Orion Nebula and its close neighbours. After a few clouds cleared from the northern region, M31 was, as usual, stunning , M33 was easy to see, but is rather disappointing, visually. Comet Holmes was just spectacular, even without the binos, or 10" dob.
Saw M36, M37 and M38.
Well satisfied.....

Nice report, you must have been lucky it was cloudy in town.
