Stellarium - how do you add MPC's and comets?

A question for the stellarium aficionados... how do you or can you load MPC's and comet data?

add comet

You need version 0.9 to be able to add comet data - I think it is not easy though - this is from the stel wiki
. Is it possible to upload new objects into stellarium?

comet reply
It is possible to add new solar system bodies by editing the ssystem.ini file, however when the orbit of the objects are very eccentric, it fails in the latest release version. The svn (development version) handles eccentric orbits better, and it is possible to use Stellarium to predict the position of comets in this way. However, there is presently no accurate visual representation of a comet. Matthewg42 00:41, 15 January 2007 (PST)

Thanks Dannat

well then that answers my question - and I have the latest version and all the star packs. Would have been good to have, but that must be on their develop list!

The additional star packs (about a gigabyte) can be downloaded. Follow the instructions in the wiki.
